Agenda 2030
What is the 2030 Agenda? In September 2015, the UN approved the largest action plan to achieve a more inclusive and prosperous world for all people and the planet itself: the 2030 Agenda.
Its importance arises as a response to the need to address the most pressing global and local challenges, such as poverty, inequality, climate change, environmental degradation or the lack of sustainable development, encompassed in 17 Sustainable Development Goals or areas, which They comprise 169 goals, which must be achieved with the participation of all parts of society: local governments, companies and civil society.
What is the relationship between populations and the 2030 Agenda?
Urban settlements can have a negative impact on the planet and its inhabitants, but they can also make it positive. And, any social and business agent, we are responsible for the sustainability and rehabilitation of communities, limited resources and ecosystems contaminated by their operations, as well as ensuring compliance with human rights throughout their supply chains. , among other areas of impact.
This is why the 2030 Agenda places municipalities as key development agents and places their contributions to sustainable development at the same level as those made by states and autonomous governments.
Now it is more necessary than ever for the transformation to be supported by firm and forward-looking public policies. Efforts that must be transparent aimed at leaving no one behind. Now is a time to develop citizen participation, now more commitment and action is needed.
